HISTORY - Created by Royal Charter by King James 1 to the Virginia Company of London to SETTLE COLONISTS IN NORTH AMERICA, Richmond reflects much of the history of the United States and in particular the towns and cities of the Mid-Eastern States and the south. First settled in Jamestown, the area has lived through and grown in contribution to the State of Virginia.
