Signed into law on Friday, November 6, the popular Income Tax Credit for First Time Home Buyers has been extended and expanded to include Move-Up Home Buyers.

SOME FEATURES OF THE LAW

• First Time Home Buyers
• Credit up to $8,000
• Must sign Contract of Sale by May 1, 2010.
• Must close on sale by end of June, 2010.
• Income limits are $150,000 for a single filer and $225,000 for joint filers.

For Move-Up Buyers

• Credit up to $6,500.
• Must sign Contract of Sale by May 1, 2010.
• Must close by end of June, 2010.
• Credit can be claimed for property priced up to $800,000.
• Income limits are $150,000 for a single filer and $225,000 for joint filers.
