Mortgage Fraud Observed by Buyer’s Broker
One of the Homefinders.com preferred brokers in Kissimmee accompanied a home buyer to a new home mortgage application this week and witnessed a loan officer attempt to pursuade his buyer/client to falsify her employment record.
This home buyer is very qualified with qualifying income and higher than required credit scores for good interest rates and loan types. Yet, the loan officer attempted to pursuade the buyer to submit an employment history that misstated her employment history.
The broker interrupted the application and he and the buyer left. Once the mortgage fraud is reported, a proper application will be made with another loan officer. But, this is an example of how having an experienced and hard working buyer’s agent helps save buyers from loan officers who would attempt to bend the rules.
